As The Real Homosexuals of the Southern Highlands continues to grow and strengthen its place within our regional LGBTQ+ community, we want to take a moment to acknowledge and farewell Patrick Glanville, who has now stepped away from the initiative.
Patrick’s contribution has been meaningful and deeply appreciated. Coming from his early work founding and shaping the Pink Drinks Group - long before its transition to Lauren - he brought with him valuable community insight, lived experience, and an understanding of what it takes to build connection in the Highlands. The lessons he learned in those foundational days helped inform our own approach, and his guidance during the early stages of our organisation was a genuine blessing.
Through his time, ideas, and thoughtful support, Patrick helped us refine our vision: to create a safe, welcoming, and uplifting space for LGBTQ+ people in the Southern Highlands, a community rooted in authenticity, belonging, and shared pride. We are grateful for everything he offered and the role he played in helping us find our direction.
As Patrick approaches his 40th birthday - a significant milestone and a natural point of reflection and renewal - he has chosen to step back from the initiative. Turning 40 often brings clarity, new priorities, and fresh beginnings, and we honour his decision to focus on his next chapter.
Patrick is no longer involved in The Real Homosexuals of the Southern Highlands, and we extend our heartfelt best wishes for whatever lies ahead. May this next decade bring him joy, fulfilment, and opportunities that align with the life he wants to create.
Thank you, Patrick. Your contribution will always be part of our foundation, and we move forward with gratitude, respect, and optimism, for both our community and for you.
