At The Real Homosexuals of the Southern Highlands, everything we do is rooted in authenticity, connection, celebration, and inclusion.
Our mission is to create safe, joyful, and inclusive spaces where queer locals and allies can connect, thrive, and be celebrated.
Our vision? To be the leading LGBTQI+ community network in the Highlands – one known for celebrating diversity, empowering queer lives, and driving inclusivity across the region.
That vision is made possible because of leaders like GP, one of our fabulous co-founders.
Who is GP?
“My name is GP (yes, that’s actually my name haha), and I’m one of the founders of The Real Homosexuals of the Southern Highlands.”
GP brings both professional expertise and personal passion to our movement.
By day, he’s a corporate professional working at one of the big four banks. By night (and every moment in between), he’s a proud queer man, partner, and father, with two beautiful kids and four dogs rounding out his vibrant, love-filled family.

Why The Real Homosexuals?
For GP, this initiative was born from both experience and vision:
“The reason I am excited about RHSH is because of the impact we have already had (and will continue to have) on the community and local businesses. I know there are tiny social catch-up groups in the Highlands for the queer community. However, none are trying to make an impact on the wider community and local businesses, which is why this idea was born!”
This passion ties directly back to our ethos: connection, liberation, celebration, and inclusion. GP embodies these values by helping to create spaces that not only serve our LGBTQI+ community but also engage the broader Highlands through partnerships, collaboration, and visibility.

A Vision for Change
GP’s drive comes from a simple but powerful place:
“I’m particularly excited to provide a safe and inclusive space to those who have never had one. I’m also just as excited to start collaborating with local businesses that are not just queer-friendly, queer-owned, or queer allies, but the local businesses and communities that are all about change!”
This commitment to building safe spaces and fostering strong local partnerships is at the heart of our mission. It’s how we amplify voices, strengthen visibility, and advocate for equality - together.
Why GP Matters
Leaders like GP remind us why we exist: to ensure that every LGBTQI+ person in the Southern Highlands feels not only welcomed, but celebrated. With his corporate expertise, community focus, and lived experience, GP is helping us bridge the gap between social connection and real, lasting impact across the region. As we continue to grow, GP’s voice and vision will guide us in making the Highlands a place where authenticity thrives and diversity is celebrated.
Inclusion is a given, not an exception.
✨ Join us in celebrating GP, our co-founder, and his dedication to creating a more visible, inclusive, and connected Southern Highlands.
Together, we’re building something extraordinary!
